I was contacted by the company http://www.organic-greentea-from.com about receiving a monthly shipment of organic green tea from Japan. The company thoroughly researches green tea farmers to offer the best organic green tea and ships you seasonal green teas monthly.  I received 3 different bags of green tea and a nice glass tea pot to steep and serve the tea in.  I loved the little pot,it has a mesh steep at the top to hold the leaves. The tea was exceptional. It had a fresh clean taste that you don’t really find with store bought tea.  I have been trying to drink at least 4 cups of green tea so when I was contacted by this company I was pretty excited. I love that it can be a monthly service. They sent me directions on how to prepare the tea that is below.

Health Benefits of Green Tea.

Green Tea has a wide variety of health benefits to those who wish to drink it.
For one, it’s loaded with antioxidants and nutrients, of which have various powerful effects
on your body.

Green Tea comes loaded with polyphenols (natural compounds which are found in tea that give the flavor.
of the tea itself) which also function as very powerful antioxidants.

Possibly the most powerful compound in green tea is the antioxidant Epigallocatechin Gallate (Or EGCG) which, in studies
has been proven to treat various diseases and may also be one of the main reasons that green tea has such strong
medical properties.

But it doesn’t stop there,
Green Tea does much more than just produce the caffeine to keep you awake. It can also make you smarter believe it or not.
While Green Tea doesn’t contain as much coffee as other forms of Tea. It contains enough to produce a response,
while not having any severe side effects that other caffeine products tend to be associated with. Such as ‘jittery’ effects

who drank the most green tea were around 76% less likely to die during the 6 year study period.

Type II diabetes is a disease which has, unfortunately reached such epidemic proportions in the past few decades, that
it now effects around 300 million people worldwide.
Type II diabetes involves having elevated blood sugar levels in the form of insulin resistance, or an inability to produce
insulin.

Further studies have shown that drinking Green Tea can improve insulin sensitivity, which in turn can reduce blood
sugar levels.

A study in Japanese individuals has found that those of which drank the most Green Tea had up to a 42% lower risk
of developing the type II Diabetes.

According to a review of a total of 7 studies, in which 286,701 individuals took part who drank Green Tea.
These individuals had an 18% lower risk of becoming diabetic.

As well as been able to improve brain function in the short term, it can also protect your brain in old age.
Alzheimer’s disease, is the most common neurodegenerative disease amoung humans, also a leading cause of dementia.
The second most common neurodegenerative disease, Parkinson’s. involves the death of dopamine producing neurons in the brain.
But multiple studies show that the catechin compounds in Green Tea canc have various protective effects on neurons in test tubes
and animal models. Which, can potentially lower the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Well it doesn’t taste half bad, various studies have proven that it can help with various health problems and also
could help you live longer!

If you are a Tea addict, it might be a good idea to try out Green Tea, as even the cheaper varietes positives, far outweigh
any risks that can be associated with caffeine products.

Many Uses for Green Tea

We all know that green tea is good for us to drink but there are other uses for the left over tea leaves and dried leaves. Here are some of them, if you know of others let us know in the comments.

Sprinkle dried crushed leaves over your carpet and let sit for about 15 minutes and then vacuum. It will leave your carpet smelling fresh.

Soaking a cloth in green tea and using as a compress over cuts and minor burns will help sooth and has antibacterial qualities

Keep a bowl of dried green tea leaves in a container in the refrigerator to get rid of unwanted odors.

Water your plant with green tea. Do not use the leaves because they will attract unwanted insects. It can be a natural fertilizer.

Sprinkle some dried leaves in the cat littler box for extra freshness.

You can also make sachets with the leaves and use for potpourri.
