More Uses For White Vinegar

We have all heard that there are many uses for white vinegar. I heard on the radio yesterday a woman telling a few, for example instead of glass cleaner to use straight vinegar. Well, here are some more uses.

To unclog and deodorize drains, The combination of vinegar and baking soda is one of the most effective ways to unclog and deodorize drains. It’s also far gentler on your pipes (and your wallet) than commercial drain cleaners.

To clear clogs in sink and tub drains, use a funnel to pour in 1/2 cup baking soda followed by 1 cup vinegar. When the foaming subsides, flush with hot tap water. Wait five minutes, and then flush again with cold water. Besides clearing blockages, this technique also washes away odor-causing bacteria.
To speed up a slow drain, pour in 1/2 cup salt followed by 2 cups boiling vinegar, then flush with hot and cold tap water.

Rinse away soapy film on countertops with a solution of white distilled vinegar and water.

Clean grout by letting full-strength white distilled vinegar sit on it for a few minutes and scrubbing it with an old toothbrush.

Kill germs all around the bathroom with a spray of full-strength white distilled vinegar. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Clean and deodorize urine on a mattress with a white distilled vinegar and water solution. Then sprinkle the area with baking soda and let dry. Brush or vacuum the residue after it is dry to the touch.

Here is one that a friend told me about. To get rid of urine (animal or human) from the carpet take very hot water in a cup and add about 1/4 cup of white vinegar and pour it over the urine. All the urine will float up to the top of the carpet so you can take a rage and clean it up. Just make sure you don’t rub it in, pound with your fists it out. Also, I have put baking soda on the urine and then poured the vinegar and water solution over it. It will foam up, you will see the urine come up.

Deter cats around sand boxes and flower beds, the solution is to pour vinegar around the edges of the area you want to protect every month and after it rains.

Clean the microwave: Boil a solution of 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar and 1 cup of water in the microwave. Will loosen splattered on food and deodorize.
