When you have young children, keeping them entertained during the colder winter months can be somewhat challenging at times. Although it’s still a great idea to get outside at least once per day for some fresh air and exercise, it’s also understandable that the time they’ll want to spend outdoors is going to be a bit less than in the warmer months of the year.

The problem is, if you’re stuck indoors for a large portion of the time, you’ll want to find ways to of keeping them entertained and stimulated without giving them too much screen time or letting them play computer games.

The good news is, there are actually plenty of things you can do with children during the winter months to keep them entertained, and even if your child needs a britzgo digital hearing amplifier, then are still plenty of ways to ensure they don’t miss out on the fun.

In this post we’re going to share with you some of the best and easiest ways to keep your child amused and entertained with some of our top fun activities for the colder months so that you also don’t feel like you’re going crazy.

Scrapbooking:

Scrapbooking is a seriously fun way for the whole family to do something creative together and children will definitely be entertained with this for a long time since it’s something they can keep or even give as a gift if they know someone who has a birthday coming up. They can make their own scrapbook from scratch using art and craft supplies, they can create themes and basically use their imagination to create something completely personal and fun where they can collect pictures and memories from the winter.

Cooking:

This may be somewhat more stressful for parents if you’re not used to cooking with children, but it can also teach them some valuable life skills, and encourage them to eat better since they’ll be more likely to eat something they’ve made themselves. You can choose to make things like cakes, cookies, or even meals with them, but it’s definitely a fun way to teach them some responsibility and let them have some fun and be educated at the same time.

Board games:

Board games are a wonderful way for the whole family to spend some time together, but even if you don’t have the time to play with them, then there are many board games that kids can play together or even on their own if needed and these are great for keeping the children entertained and engaged whilst also learning something.

Making a diary:

Much like scrapbooking, diaries are a great thing for older children to create – they can write about the things they did and learned over the winter and can collect things like pictures or keepsakes to add to their diary that they can later look back on. This is something you can do together, or something that they might prefer to do on their own, but either way it’s a great way to keep them occupied and entertained.
